Hereinafter referred to as “Les Éditions Comète”.
2. Purpose and Scope
These Terms and Conditions of Sale define the rights and obligations of Les Éditions Comète and its customers in connection with the online sale of products offered on editionscomete.com.
They apply to every order placed on the website by a consumer. By placing an order, the customer acknowledges having read these Terms and Conditions of Sale beforehand and having accepted them without reservation.
3. Products
The essential characteristics of each product are described on its product page, including its nature, dimensions, manufacturing or printing techniques, material, quantity, price and, where applicable, numbering or signature.
Handcrafted, hand-printed or hand-finished products may present slight variations. Such characteristics shall not be regarded as defects where they are inherent in the manufacturing process and do not affect the product’s essential characteristics.
Photographs are presented with the greatest possible care, but the colours displayed may vary depending on the screen being used. They are not contractually binding with regard to the exact rendering of colours.
Offers are valid while stocks last.
4. Prices
Prices are stated in euros.
Les Éditions Comète benefits from the French VAT exemption scheme for small businesses. VAT is therefore not applicable pursuant to Article 293 B of the French General Tax Code.
Delivery charges are not included in the product prices. They are calculated according to the destination and contents of the order and are displayed to the customer before the order is finally confirmed.
For deliveries outside the European Union, customs duties, import taxes or administrative charges may be imposed by the authorities of the destination country. Unless otherwise required by mandatory law, these charges shall be borne by the recipient.
Les Éditions Comète may change its prices at any time. The price charged is the price displayed when the order is confirmed.
5. Orders
The customer selects the products they wish to purchase and adds them to their cart. Before confirming the order, the customer can review its contents, total price and delivery charges and correct any errors.
The order becomes final after:
- the cart and delivery information have been confirmed;
- these Terms and Conditions of Sale have been accepted;
- the obligation to pay has been confirmed;
- the payment has been approved through PayPal.
A confirmation is sent to the email address provided by the customer.
Les Éditions Comète reserves the right to refuse or cancel an order in the event of suspected fraud, a payment incident, manifestly incorrect information or the exceptional unavailability of a product. If an order is cancelled after payment, the sums paid will be refunded.
6. Payment
Payment is made online through PayPal using the payment methods offered by that service at the time of the order.
Payment is due immediately and in full. Les Éditions Comète neither receives nor stores the customer’s complete banking information, which is processed by PayPal in accordance with its own terms and privacy policy.
The order will only be prepared once payment has been confirmed.
7. Delivery
Orders are prepared and dispatched within a maximum of 10 calendar days following confirmation of payment.
This preparation period is additional to the delivery time of La Poste – Colissimo. The delivery time or estimate applicable to the destination is displayed to the customer during the ordering process whenever available.
Products are delivered to the destinations offered by the website at the time of the order. The applicable charges are displayed before payment is confirmed.
The customer must provide a complete and accurate address. Les Éditions Comète shall not be held liable for any delay or return caused by an incorrect or incomplete address supplied by the customer. A new shipment may then be offered at the customer’s expense.
The risk of loss or damage passes to the customer when they, or a third party designated by them, physically take possession of the parcel.
In the event of a significant delay, loss or damaged parcel, the customer must contact Les Éditions Comète as soon as possible at contact@editionscomete.com, so that an investigation or claim may be initiated with the carrier.
8. Receipt of the Order
Upon receipt, the customer is advised to inspect the condition of the packaging and products.
If a parcel or product is damaged, the customer is advised to retain the packaging, take photographs and promptly contact Les Éditions Comète, quoting the order number.
These recommendations do not affect the customer’s rights under the applicable statutory guarantees.
9. Right of Withdrawal
In accordance with Article L221-18 of the French Consumer Code, consumers have 14 days from receipt of the product to exercise their right of withdrawal without having to provide a reason.
To exercise this right, the customer must send, before the expiry of this period, an unambiguous statement of their decision to withdraw or the form provided at the end of these Terms and Conditions to:
The customer then has 14 days to return the product.
Products must be returned complete and adequately protected. The customer may handle the product only to the extent necessary to establish its nature and characteristics. The customer may be held liable for any loss in value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary.
The direct cost of returning the product shall be borne by the customer. The customer is advised to use a shipping method appropriate to the product’s value and providing shipment tracking.
Products made to the customer’s specifications or clearly personalised are excluded from the right of withdrawal in accordance with Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code. This exception applies only where it was clearly indicated on the relevant product page before the order was placed.
10. Refund Following Withdrawal
In the event of a valid withdrawal, Les Éditions Comète will refund the sums received in connection with the relevant order, including delivery charges corresponding to the standard delivery method offered.
Any additional costs resulting from the customer’s choice of a delivery method more expensive than the standard method will not be refunded.
The refund will be made no later than 14 days after notification of the withdrawal. Les Éditions Comète may withhold the refund until the product has been recovered or until proof of its dispatch has been provided, whichever occurs first.
The refund will be made using the same payment method as that used for the order, unless the customer expressly agrees to another method that does not incur any additional charges.
11. Statutory Guarantees
The products sold are covered by the statutory guarantee of conformity provided for in Articles L217-3 et seq. of the French Consumer Code and by the guarantee against hidden defects provided for in Articles 1641 et seq. of the French Civil Code.
Consumers have two years from delivery of the goods to invoke the statutory guarantee of conformity in the event of a lack of conformity.
They may request the repair or replacement of the product under the conditions provided for by law. Where these remedies are impossible, disproportionate or cannot be implemented within the statutory time limits, the consumer may obtain a price reduction or terminate the contract under the conditions provided for by the French Consumer Code.
The statutory guarantee of conformity applies independently of any commercial guarantee that may be offered.
In the event of a hidden defect rendering the product unfit for its intended purpose or substantially reducing its usability, the customer may bring a claim under the conditions provided for in Articles 1641 et seq. of the French Civil Code.
Any request must be sent to contact@editionscomete.com, together with the order number and any information or evidence demonstrating the issue.
12. Liability
Les Éditions Comète is responsible for the proper performance of its obligations under the conditions provided for by law.
However, Les Éditions Comète shall not be held liable where non-performance or improper performance results from the customer’s fault, the unforeseeable and unavoidable act of a third party or an event of force majeure.
Links to third-party websites are provided for information purposes only. Les Éditions Comète has no control over their content or practices.
13. Personal Data
Personal data provided when an order is placed is used to process payment, prepare and deliver the order, provide after-sales service and comply with legal and accounting obligations.

14. Consumer Mediation
In the event of a difficulty, the customer must first submit a complaint to Les Éditions Comète at contact@editionscomete.com.
If the complaint does not result in an amicable solution, the consumer may refer the matter, free of charge, to the consumer mediator appointed by Les Éditions Comète.
15. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions of Sale are governed by French law.
This choice of law does not deprive consumers residing in another country of the protection afforded to them by the mandatory provisions of the law applicable in their country of residence.
If the dispute cannot be resolved amicably or through mediation, it may be brought before the competent courts in accordance with the applicable legal rules.
